根據英國媒體《每日郵報》報道，林加德目前在接受採訪時，維護了他的朋友保羅-博格巴。
博格巴在法國3-1擊敗義大利的比賽中，打出了一記賽後讓眾人嘲笑的離譜遠射，以至於德尚也不得不公開維護這名弟子。
博格巴在老特拉福德的隊友林加德則表示：「他總是會受到這樣的爭議，但保羅（博格巴）一直是很棒的，他在球場上也是在儘量表現自己的實力。」
林加德和博格巴在曼聯青年隊當過隊友，在後者去尤文圖斯踢球之前。提到這段往事，林加德說：「保羅（博格巴）只是想要變得更好而已，我跟他16歲就認識了，在一起踢了幾個月球，然後我們就一直是很好的朋友。」
「他還很年輕，還在學會閱讀比賽。」林加德說：「我相信世界在他腳下！」
博格巴在法國隊1-1戰平美國隊的熱身賽中有出色發揮，在這場比賽中，格林為美國首開紀錄，而姆巴佩則扳平了比分。

Jesse Lingard has jumped to the defence of Manchester United team-mate Paul Pogba after the midfielder was jeered by fans during France's 3-1 friendly win against Italy last week.
Pogba was roundly booed for a wild shot which almost went out for a throw during the showdown in Nice.
That was just the latest clash with supporters which prompted boss Didier Deschamps to publicly back the controversial United star.
His Old Trafford team-mate Lingard said: 'He is always going to get that. But he's a great human being off the pitch and he brings that on to the pitch as well.'
England forward Lingard and Pogba were United juniors together before the French ace went to Juventus.
Lingard added: 'We were very close. He came over when he was 16 and we played for a few months. Ever since then, we've remained friends.
'Paul is only going to get better. He is still young, he's still learning the game. The world is at his feet.'
Pogba featured in France's 1-1 draw with USA as they completed their warm-up for the World Cup.
Julian Green opened the scoring on the stroke of half-time before Kylian Mbappe scored late on to spare France's blushes.
