據外媒報道，因擔心 TikTok 獲得的數據可能會被中國政府獲取，美國參議院通過法案，禁止聯邦僱員在政府擁有的裝置上使用 TikTok。
法案由密蘇里州共和黨人參議員 Josh Hawley 發起，其指 TikTok 是中共政府的「特洛伊木馬」，對美國來說是一個重大的安全風險，因此在它完全斷絕與內地的關係之前，禁止在美國政府或政府公司發行的手機、平板電腦和桌上電腦下載或使用 TikTok。
參議院昨日（14日）通過了禁止在政府裝置上使用 TikTok 的立法，沒有參議員反對，但其後仍需於眾議院通過才能讓總統拜登簽署立法。
此外，參議員 Marco Rubio 和眾議員 Mike Gallagher 於本周亦向國會提出了另一項反 TikTok 法案，旨在完全禁止於美國的社交媒體平台中。
TikTok 發言人 Brooke Oberwetter 在一份聲明中對投票結果表示，推進禁止在政府裝置上使用 TikTok 的立法無助促進美國的國家安全利益。
